shading tutorial

Description

my girlfriend asked me how I shade so I threw together a quick tutorial on how I do so~

step one: I find a base colour, then pick something further round the wheel from it instead of a darker version of itself (ie I shade orange with a dark red, instead of a dark orange) and even though I pick a darker colour, try to keep it as saturated as I can without it being too light/bright/obnoxious.
step two: I blend it (using the 'watercolour (wet)' brush on medibang paint, but any brush-like tool could work.) using a brush at roughly 20-30% opacity, (varying on the colours and surface I'm trying to shade this can get lower or higher) working in CIRCLES to blend the two colours into eachother, if the blue becomes too overpowering I switch to purple and vice versa
Step three: I repeat step 1, this time with a darker colour, still saturated, not monochrome or gross.
step four, five and six: repeating step 2, then 3, then 2 again.
step seven: I make a new layer (yes previous steps can be done on one layer or multiple, it depends) and set it to 'add' or 'luminosity' and shade it using black (the layer type doesn't show up black, so it acts as a blender)
